Merge Garden: Maths Edition privacy policy

Merge Garden is a maths game for children aged 6 to 10. We built it so that a child's information stays on your device. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
What the app keeps, and where
Everything below is stored only on this device, inside the app:
- Each child's profile: a first name or nickname (up to 12 letters), their age band (6–7 or 8–10), an optional pronoun for the grown-ups area, and an avatar colour.
- Their garden: stars, water drops, flowers grown, which level to carry on from, and which worlds are open.
- Their learning log: each sum they answer or grow (for example "8 + 5, answered 13, right, 2 seconds"). Detailed entries are kept for 180 days, then added up into daily totals. This powers the grown-ups dashboard.
- Settings: sound, voice, reduce motion, the daily play limit, and how long each child has played today.
None of this is sent anywhere. We can't see it, and nor can anyone else. If a family sync feature is added in future, it will be off unless a grown-up turns it on.
What leaves the device
Only one thing: purchase receipts, if a grown-up buys the full garden (a one-off purchase).
- Payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see card details.
- The app checks the purchase by asking the store on the device. We don't run a server, and no other company is involved: nothing about a child, their answers or the purchase is sent to us.
- We don't use advertising IDs, and the app can't read them.
Links and purchases are for grown-ups
Purchases, settings and the only two links out of the app (these terms and this policy) are behind a grown-ups gate: press and hold two leaves at once for three seconds.
Deleting your data
- One child: open Grown-ups, then Settings (the cog), then Delete [name]'s garden and data. Their profile, progress, learning log and play time are removed from the device straight away. This can't be undone.
- Everything: uninstall the app. All of its data is removed from the device.
- Purchases: your purchase is recorded in your App Store or Google Play account. Ask Apple or Google about their purchase records.
Children's privacy
Merge Garden is designed for children and follows Apple's Kids Category rules and Google Play's Families policy. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. The nickname stays on the device and is only used to label the child's garden.
