Merge Garden Support
We're here to help. Most answers are below — if yours isn't, email us and a real person will reply.
Getting started
What age is Merge Garden for?
It's made for children aged 6 to 10. When you add a child you choose an age band (6–7 or 8–10).
How do you play?
Drag one seedling onto another and they grow into a bigger plant — 2 + 3 grows a 5-flower. If dragging is tricky, tap one plant and then another instead. Bumble the bee gives orders for exact numbers; plan your merges to fill them and finish the level. There are no timers, no lives and no losing, and the watering can gives a hint whenever your child is stuck.
What's in the game?
Four worlds, in order:
- Meadow — making numbers to 10
- Pond — numbers to 20, bridging through 10 (like 8 + 5)
- Greenhouse — times tables 2, 5 and 10, then 3 and 4
- Orchard — fractions with halves, quarters and eighths
Does it work without internet?
Yes. The whole garden plays offline. A connection is only needed to buy the full garden or restore it.
Does my child need an account?
No. There are no accounts and no sign-in. Each child just needs a first name or nickname to label their garden, and it stays on the device.
Grown-ups area
How do I get into the grown-ups area?
Tap Grown-ups, then press and hold both leaves at the same time until the circles fill (about three seconds). It keeps young children out of settings, links and purchases.
How do I add another child?
Tap Add a child on the home screen and complete the grown-ups gate. The free version includes one child's garden; the full garden allows up to four.
Where can I see how my child is doing?
The grown-ups dashboard shows each child's minutes played, sums made, and which skills are secure, growing or need a little help, by week or by month. It explains common mistakes in plain words and suggests a simple activity to try at home.
Can I limit how long my child plays?
Yes. In the grown-ups area, tap the cog for Settings → Daily play limit and choose 10, 20 or 30 minutes (or Off). When time is up the garden goes to sleep — never in the middle of a move.
How do I turn off the voice or sound effects?
Settings has separate switches for Voice and Sound effects. We recommend keeping the voice on — hearing each sum spoken is a big part of learning it.
The animations are too busy for my child.
Turn on Settings → Reduce motion. Merges fade instead of moving. It's also switched on automatically when the device asks for less motion.
The full garden and purchases
What's free, and what does the full garden add?
The first six Meadow levels and one child's garden are free, always. The full garden is a single one-time purchase that opens all four worlds, up to four children and every skill report. There's no subscription and nothing renews. The price is shown in the store, in your local currency, before you buy.
How do I buy the full garden?
Open the grown-ups area and tap Unlock the full garden, then the unlock button showing the price.
Can my child buy something by accident?
No. The full garden is only offered behind the grown-ups gate, and the actual payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play — their payment sheet, their confirmation step.
Will I be charged again?
No. It's a one-off purchase, not a subscription — there's nothing to cancel and no renewal.
I bought the full garden but it's locked.
This usually means the app is on a new device, or was reinstalled. Open the grown-ups area, tap Unlock the full garden, then Restore purchase. The whole garden opens again without paying again, as long as you use the same store account that bought it. If it still doesn't appear, email us — include the store account's email address and roughly when you bought it.
Can I use it on another device?
Yes. The purchase belongs to your store account. Sign in to the same App Store or Google Play account on the other device, then tap Restore purchase in the grown-ups area.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by the stores, so refunds go through them rather than us:
- Google Play — https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637
- Apple — https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084
If a purchase went wrong, email us as well and we'll help where we can.
Progress and data
What data do you collect?
Nothing about your child. Gardens, learning logs and settings are saved on the device and never sent to us. There are no ads and no analytics. Purchases are checked with the App Store or Google Play on the device — we don't run a server, and no other company is involved. The full details are in our privacy policy.
How do I delete my child's data?
In the grown-ups area, open Settings (the cog) and tap Delete [name]'s garden and data. Or uninstall the app to remove everything. There's no copy with us, because it never left the device.
