Build
On the stage, drag heroes into place, make them bigger or smaller, and choose what they do and say: jump, dance, walk, wave or sleep. Up to eight scenes per story, saved to the shelf automatically.
Watch
Press play and the story runs as a little animated film, with captions read aloud so early readers can follow every word.
Read a story
Nineteen classic fairy tales retold gently, from Little Red Riding Hood to Stone Soup, plus nine books about Pip and friends. Tap Read to me and watch the words light up as they are spoken.
Make it mine
Every book also plays as a film, and Make it mine copies it onto your child's shelf to change however they like.

Stuck for an idea? Twinkle, the sparkle helper, offers three scene ideas at a time — built only from the app's own heroes, places and feelings, written and reviewed by us.
For grown-ups
Behind a parental gate — a multiplication question answered on the app's own keypad — the Grown-ups area lets you:
- Save a finished story as a video with narration, straight to Photos or the share sheet
- Print it as a PDF storybook
- Choose the app's language and switch sound effects on or off
- Switch the Story Helper off, or choose which idea themes it may use
- Delete everything the app has stored for your child, in one tap
Nothing is shared unless you share it.
Built for pre-readers
A child can say their name instead of typing it (recognised on the device, never recorded), and every caption and screen title is read aloud by your device's own voice. There is no free typing anywhere a child plays — every story is made from the app's own pieces. The app speaks 30 languages.
Story Studio Plus — one purchase, never a subscription
The app is free to download, and making, saving and watching stories is free for everyone. Three fairy tales and two studio books are free to read. Story Studio Plus is a single purchase that unlocks the rest of the bookshelf and the video and PDF exports. It never renews and there are no consumables.
It is sold only in the Grown-ups area, behind the parental gate. Children never see a price or a buy button — tapping a locked book simply opens the gate.
Private by design
No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no internet connection in the app you download from the stores. Everything your child makes stays in the app's private storage on your device, and one tap in the Grown-ups area deletes it all. Read the full privacy policy.
